About RISC OS Now
RISC OS Now is a bi-monthly magazine aimed at supporting the RISC OS market. It is available from RISC OS shows which take place around the UK, as well as by subscription. RISC OS stands for 'Reduced Instruction Set Computer' Operating System and is a computer platform invented and developed by Acorn Computers Ltd from the 1980's and 1990's. During this time, they developed the most common computing system found in schools and the work place. Since then, the platform has been developed and is now being made open source by ROOL (RISC OS Open Souce Ltd) in the bid to make it more widely available to all those who wish to use it. RISC OS Now's aim is to have a healthy balance between programming and user based articles, ranging from software specific tutorials to in-depth coding. Articles are kindly volunteered by current users of RISC OS. The writing of articles is an open market, anyone can submit articles for review by the editor, and they are guaranteed to be read and feedback given. If you are interested in RISC OS and how it can support you in your business or home, and would like more information, you can email the editor of RISC OS Now, or click on the links on the Small Developers Page to find out what is actually going on in the RISC OS world. | ![]() |
